Kantipur Theatre has adapted Parijat's Madan Puraskar-winning novel "Shirishko Phool" into a stage production, written and directed by Patrika Ghimire and produced by Ramesh Puri. In the play, the central character Suyogbir is portrayed by renowned actor Jeevan Luitel, marking his debut on the theatrical stage. The role of Sakambari, the other lead character, is played by Sanisha Bhattarai, also making her debut in theatre. Additionally, actor Raj Nyaupane appears in a prominent role.
The play has been staged at Kantipur Theatre, Gairidhara, since Shrawan 8 (July 24). It seeks to convey Parijat’s deep philosophical ideas and social realism through visuals, music, and emotion. Emphasizing feelings and expression over dialogue, this theatrical rendition aims to leave a silent yet profound impact on its audience.
